The following guide sets up your Grandstream HandyTone 486 for IraqSat VOIP service.
Connect your PC to the LAN port of the Grandstream and get an address by DHCP (set the PC to "obtain IP address automatically". The Grandstream will assign an address. The default is for the Grandstream to use 192.168.0.1 and to assign addressess in the range 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254. Open a Command Prompt and use the command "ipconfig" to see what IP address you are given. The default router will be the IP address of the Grandstream.
Connect the Grandstream WAN port to your Internet connection directly. Do not connect through your router unless you are familiar with IP network administration.
Connect a phone handset to the "phone" port on the back of the Grandstream. Do not connect to the "line" port on the side.
Start Internet Explorer. Browse to http://192.168.0.1. If this does not work, replace the IP address with the Gateway IP address from step 1 and try again.
The Grandstream HandyTone 486 login page appears:
Enter the default password, which is "admin" and press the "Login" button. The Grandstream HandyTone 486 Configuration page will appear. If not, try entering no password, or ask your administrator for what the password has become.

|
Select "Click to view your changes" to go back to the Configuration window, and this time press the "Reboot" button. The Grandstream will reboot. Reload the page and verify again that the settings are correct.
If the Grandstream isn't using the latest firmware, it will automatically download and install it. During this time you will not have dial tone and the LED status light will flash red. This can take 10 minutes or more. When it is finished, the system will reboot. The interface may change appearance after the update. If you are not connected to a network connection at this time, the update will happen next time the Grandstream is connected.
Make a phone call to a known test number and verify the system is working correctly. If not, check your settings above.
